THE 18th VOW OF AMITABHA BUDDHA
If, when I achieve buddhahood, sentient beings of the ten directions who sincerely and joyfully entrust themselves to me, wish to be reborn in my land and recite my name, even ten times, should fail to be born there, may I not attain perfect enlightenment. Excepted are those who commit the five gravest transgressions or slander the correct dharma.
Vision and Mission:
Our Vision is to introduce the teachings and practices of Pure Land Buddhism according to the lineage of The Venerable Master Shandao and promote its guiding principles:
Faith in and acceptance of Amitabha Buddha
Single-minded recitation of Amitabha’s name
Aspiration to rebirth in Amitabha’s Pure Land
Comprehensive deliverance of all sentient beings
Our Mission is to build a community of support in the larger Canadian community that educates practitioners to aspire to rebirth in the Land of Bliss by reciting the name of Amitabha Buddha exclusively.
The Venerable:
Venerable Fo Xi, Baiping Wan, obtained her master degree in Japan and then immigrated to Canada 20 years ago. The Venerable took monastic vows in 2018 and now would like to benefit more people in Canada from the teachings and practices of Pure Land Buddhism of the Shandao tradition.
